LKL/LIDC/AMREF Workshop: Designing Mobile Learning Activities for Training on the Nursing Process

May 18 - 19 2011, AMREF International Training Centre, Nairobi

Workshop Leader: Niall Winters

The aim of this workshop is to design mobile phone-based training activities on the nursing process. The workshop will discuss and reflect on current practice by mentors, tutors and students and seek to understand and clarify common problems. Following on from this, participants will discuss the role that mobile-based activities could play in alleviating some of these problems and/or supporting new learning practices. The format will be very hands-on and practical, involving a lot of group work, presentation and discussion.

The workshop will provide an introduction to mobile learning. The idea is not to think about how mobile learning can replace current activities but instead to think about innovative ways in which it might be embedded within existing practice to address specific needs.

Funded by the Centre for Distance Education, University of London and supported by the London Knowledge Lab (LKL), London International Development Centre (LIDC) and AMREF.
