World Malaria Day 2011

World Malaria Day 2011 is a time for examining the progress the world has made towards malaria control and elimination and to renew efforts towards achieving the target of zero malaria deaths by 2015.

Across the African continent, significant improvement has been noted as a result of increases in funding and commitment to malaria control, helping to quickly scale-up intervention coverage and reduce bottlenecks, and providing support for countries to adopt more effective treatment and diagnostic strategies.

AMREF continues to make significant contributions in the fight against malaria throught its community health projects and its laboratory strenghtening programme across the African continent.
